Biofarmab - Biomagnesium

APPLICATION

To be used when the magnesium content of the feed fails to meet the horse’s requirements.

Eclipse Biofarmab BioMagnesium contains high bioavailibility magnesium in a unique combination of easily absorbable magnesium oxide, magnesium phosphate and magnesium chelate. The mineral is chelated, i.e. protein-bound, which is especially important for rapid biological absorption.

Magnesium is one of the body’s most crucial minerals. It is essential for the proper functioning of numerous enzymes and the maintenance of robust muscle and nerve functions, as well as the health of the heart and blood vessels.

Roughly 60% of the body’s magnesium resides within the skeletal structure, playing a pivotal role in skeletal development and closely interacting with calcium and phosphorus. The daily excretion of magnesium through faeces and urine amounts to approximately 6 mg per kg of body weight, which must be replenished by the maintenance feed.

However, magnesium cannot be retained within the body and must be consistently provided through dietary intake. Studies have demonstrated that both humans and horses frequently experience magnesium deficiency.

One of the possible deficiency symptoms in horses is nervousness, i.e. skittishness and tension. In the event of magnesium deficiency, the body’s capacity to manage substances released during stress or fear is impaired, resulting in an enhanced propensity to react to environmental stimuli. The growing prevalence of magnesium deficiency observed today is primarily attributed to soil depletion, but an imbalance in the feed ratio of calcium to magnesium, which ideally should be 5:2, is another possible contributing factor.

FEEDING DIRECTIONS

Pony: 1 scoop/day

Horse: 2 scoops/day

Large-sized horse (over 600kg): 2.5 scoops/day

Mix well in feed.

1 scoop = 10 g provides 2.9 g magnesium
